Integrity Toys Dolly Days continue with the East 59th collection: La Femme Godiva

Third day for Dolly Days and the East 59th line had a date with the W Club - just like the previous time! Four dolls for the collection titled "La Femme Godiva" and a stellar job overall from Chris Stoekel! One of the four dolls is a lottery-only, W Club exclusive, the three remaining ones are dealer dolls. If you have not contacted your dealer yet, do it now. Just a reminder that some dealers put them directly on their website and do not take pre-order emails. Also Sideshow will probably put them up tomorrow, as Friday is the day reserved for W Club members to preorder.

This is by far the most gorgeous doll of this collection! Chris has done an incredible job with her, again a bit Mugler inspired I guess - this time though more adjusted to the appropriate era for East 59th (Mugler did the fur coat too back then). The fur, the bodysuit, the skirt, wow! We have seen all the accessories before, but who cares if they match so well for an exquisite ensemble? The doll is a new character but the face looks familiar. Chris confirmed in a comment on one of his Instagram posts that it is indeed a refreshed old sculpt. When I first saw her, I though of the original Kyori sculpt but more experienced collectors have commented that it it probably Alysa from the old Integrity Toys playline dolls. In any case, she’s beautiful and I hope I win the lottery for her. W Club members have until January 31st, 2021 at noon Eastern Time to enter. If they win, they have to pay only $30.00 as a first Instalment to secure the doll, that ships in summer, when the rest of the amount will have to be paid along with shipping.

The second appearance of Miss Della Roux (third if you count the scrumptious OOAK one I got from Chris Stoeckel and Integrity Toys as a gift for interviewing him live on Instagram) is a smashing one. Dressed in powder blue, with matching accessories, Della hits the ball right out of the park! She gives off Dominique Deveraux (from the original Dynasty TV series) vibes. Pure perfection. She’s sold out at most dealers and I can understand why.

Another new character introduced in this collection, Brasilian Maeve initially reminded me of the original Victoire sculpt (which was Dynamite Girls Jasper), but that one had a much more delicate nose - people who know better recognised the Integrity Toys playline Jade doll sculpt. Probably refreshed too, like Cora. Beautiful doll with a striking outfit - its versatility and different pieces plus the cigarette holder remind me of the first Constance outfit.

Evelyn is always sure to be one of the best dolls in every East 59th line up and she surely does not disappoint here. The cut of her outfit brings to mind her first outing but in quite a different concept. The Egyptian hieroglyphics print is very original. Two minor points: a. I’d love to see her in different hairstyles and hair colours and b. I would have preferred the accessories to be in that lovely shade of green from her outfit instead of powder (get it?) pink. Just nitpicking here.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Prototypes shown, final product may vary. For adult collectors ages 15 and up only. The acrylic block in the accessory photos is not included.

Integrity Toys 2019 Convention Day 2: OOAK raffle dolls

Every year the designers of Integrity Toys create some amazing one of a kind doll’s to raffle off during the convention. This year was no exception. As the W Club unfortunately does not sent any email about them, I got some captures from the company’s Instagram stories so that you can check them out. You can see how popular they were with their followers too.

public.jpeg

Third new Tulabelle doll and yes, I can officially say I don’t like her sculpt. In this case, I don’t like the outfit either. Which is a variation of last year’s Style Lab Poppy.

public.jpeg

A colour variation (which is happening a lot in this convention and is, by now, lazy) of the W Club exclusive Midnight Decadence Poppy Parker. Looks nice but it’s frankly boring just seeing one colour variation after another and no new, exciting designs.

public.jpeg

See how gorgeous a new doll design can be? Although new is not exactly a word one can use for a Karl Lagerfeld inspired doll, when Mattel has already done it before you. Still, Noah looks amazing here and I’d probably put all my raffle tickets towards him.

public.jpeg

Beautiful Natalia (Flor means flower in Spanish and Portuguese), with a dress that looks like a flower.

public.jpeg

Imagine handling a company’s social media and mistaking the product names. Nadja, again in a lighter skin tone, with one of those ruffled tulle dresses that have become quite popular lately.

public.jpeg

Evelyn is so beautiful here, with her frothy polka dot gown and red hair. Please make a b&w version of the dress in the East 59th line.

public.jpeg

Victoire embodies the Fire And Ice Revlon ad from 1952, with Dorian Leigh, but with a touch of Allure Monogram. Gorgeous.

public.jpeg

A mess of an outfit. Why is this a Nu.Fantasy? What is the fairytale connection? If anyone knows, please comment on it. I’m guessing the sculpt is a Monogram.

public.jpeg

Compare this to the previous doll. So much better! And it certainly looks like it took a lot of time making the dress, with the flowers and everything.

So, let us know your pick of the raffle dolls in the comments!

East 59th capsule collection unveiled!

Two new capsule collections were revealed this week from Integrity Toys. The first one is East 59th Street by Chris Stoeckel, who continues with his foray in the world of 1950's fashion. There are two dressed dolls and a gift set inspired by retro paper doll designs available through regular IT dealers and also an IT Direct exclusive two-doll "Pink Champagne" gift set, featuring Victoire Roux modelling her friend Aurelia's latest creation on her wedding day.

Beautiful doll but not enough to tempt me into buying her, although I want a dark haired Victoire for my collection (the ones I have have all variations of red hair). Elegant and bright ensemble with nice details and accessories. It has a whiff of the Busy Gal Barbie. This hat has been done to death in Poppy Parker line and should be retired. There were so many different hat designs in the 1950s so it would be nice to see something else for a change. Love the colour combinations.

A new Aurelia, not that different from the first one at first look. I don’t particularly like the dress with the weird draping. I wish we could see more Charles James style gowns instead of Bon Bon style dresses. Not a fan of the colour combination either. She has the more realistic gloves which is a very good thing.

I really don’t like this one. The colours, shapes, textures, are all somewhat off. The Victoire gown in particular looks shapeless. The fabric and embroidery don’t particularly do the shape justice and keep it from looking good on the doll. It’s a great price for two dolls though. Oven mittens make an appearance on the bride.

Integrity Toys 2018 reveal pt.3: East 59th Collection

The third collection presented during the webinar was East 59th. Of course Chris Stoeckel was there to talk about the concept (fashions inspired by cocktails) and give us all the details. Constance Madssen and Evelyn Weaverton are joined this season by the first male doll (now apparently called Fashion Figures) Laird Drake and a newly revamped Victoire Roux, returning with a redesigned sculpt after a two-year absence. Most collectors, me included, were expecting her debut during the convention but here she is. Just like last year, most of the dolls include an alternate ensemble by using extra pieces and lots of miniature accessories like cocktail glasses, bottles and cigars. All dolls are available via Integrity Toys Dealers only and are for adult collectors ages 15 and up only. Most of them will arrive in September, making it difficult to order more than one or two, even though it’s a great collection.

Another new man! This is shaping up to be the year of men for Integrity Toys. He’s channeling Cary Grant, as his styling recalls the To Catch A Thief film. Handsome man and great outfit, plus lots of accessories. I was a bit on the fence about him but finally relented and added him to my preorder. I think most of the new male sculpts not included in the new Homme line could be rejects from that line. Truth is I expected him looking quite older.

Constance is giving off Marilyn Monroe vibes. I love the colours, their combination and the design of the outfits, plus the accessories. Too bad my budget is finite. One thing: they talked about the hat as if it was something new, but we have had a similar one with Outsass Vanessa. Unless it is made of fabric and not the usual flocked plastic, it does not look that special. Pet peeve: oven mitts. Bleh.

If I had the budget to add another doll from this collection to my preorder, this would be it. Even though her face reminds me a lot of the Cinderella Evelyn from last year’s convention (and Evan Rachel Wood as well), her styling, outfit and accessories are superb. A Kelly Style bag, a gift box (looks like the kind used for cakes), the pumps opened on the sides... gorgeous!

A beautiful raven haired Wvelyn, wearing an impressive and stylish gown. The accessories are to die for, particularly most being close to Tiffany blue. Oven mitts alert. I actually asked during the Q&A at the end of the webinar, why we see both the old, ugly oven mitts and the new sculpted hand glove with the separate arm piece. One of the designers said that it is an aesthetic decision: sometimes the old style fits the design. He also, said that sometimes the colour of the hand and that of the fabric does not match. I think white should have been easy to make, no?

The return of Victoire Roux! With a redesigned sculpt, so that it will look less cartoony and more realistic, as Chris said. She’s beautiful and I preordered her as I wanted to have the first new Victoire, even though I already have an older one with similarly coloured hair. The versatility of the outfit is nice and her accessories great. She has the new sculpted gloves but the golden colour of the hands does not perfectly match the arm fabric. How come this was,ade and not the white or orange ones for the other dolls? The gin bottle, martini glass and jewellery more than make up,for it though.

IMG_6528.JPG

Did you like the new East 59th collection? How about the new Victoire? Are you preordering any doll’s from this line? Let me know in the comments.

Fashion Fairytale: Integrity Toys Convention part 4 - the welcome gala and East 59th cocktail

Time to check out the first day of the convention, right? An Agnes Von Weiss doll was waiting for everyone at their table, sitting on a giant throne, dressed in a look inspired by the Evil Queen in Snow White. None other than Poppy Parker was the giveaway doll of the evening, in a Snow White inspired look. And everyone received a Nadja Rhymes doll, part one of the "Build-a-Giftset" box they had received at registration. It looks like she is the reincarnation of Sleeping Beauty. After the ballroom festivities ended, those who had purchased a ticket headed to the East 59th Afterhours Cocktail, featuring Evelyn and Constance as Cinderella and her wicked step-mother. Below are the dolls of the first day.

Best Fashion Royalty doll of the convention so far is this gorgeous Agnes. Perfectly reimagined as the Evil Queen from Snow White, she fits the role to a t. The hairstyle looks much better here than on Sea Devil Veronique and her face paint is amazing. But a Queen should have had more amazing jewellery than stud earrings and a simple chain choker. Pity that the two tiered hemline is the only way to see the purple colour of the underskirt.

Beautiful doll but a meh dress. Snow White should not be dressed in white just because of her name! The rose choker should have been an apple one, no? The braid at the front reminds me of the Nu Face Gretel. I hope those boots have a zipper at the back.

Blonde suits Nadja. After going platinum in this year’s Nu Face collection, she gets to be one again for the convention. Her style could be the link between the two latest Nu Face collections, she could easily fit in both.

Beautiful Wicked Step Mother interpretation and so chic. She should have had better earrings though. Villains always outdress their hero counterparts, it’s a fact.

A Dior Cinderella? Take my money! Fantastic doll, recreating the famous Junon and Venus gowns from Christian Dior. I guess it’s production issues that prohibit the dress to be completely embroidered (the price would probably skyrocket) so they went for a combination of the two gowns, but still she looks awesome. She is available to preorder, both to attendees but also to W Club members who did not go to the convention, with a slightly higher price. See the original Dior gowns below.  Junon is the French version of Juno or Hera, the goddess wife of Jupiter or Zeus. Her animal symbol was the peacock and Christian Dior tried to imitate the effect of its feathered tail with embroidery in an abstract way.
